The 20 levels of Dendrite Bloom

From a single fold on a small sheet to designing your own folds. Every level has ten puzzles, played five at a time.

How the levels build

Difficulty comes from reasoning about the paper, not from fiddly hand work, so the number of punches stays small even as the folds get stranger. Each level has its own glowing cluster of neurons in the ring above you, and a puzzle you miss comes back for practice. After level 20, Infinite Bloom keeps going with generated puzzles.

STAGE 1 · LEVELS 1–6

First folds

Halving folds on a small sheet, then a bigger one, with more holes at a time.

  1. Level 1 · One foldHOLES

A 4 × 4 sheet, one fold and one punch: two mirrored holes.

  2. Level 2 · Two foldsHOLES

Folds in both directions make a grid of four holes; folds the same way make a row.

  3. Level 3 · The bigger sheetHOLES

An 8 × 8 sheet with the same two folds, so the squares stay the same size but the picture grows.

  4. Level 4 · Three foldsHOLES

Two folds one way and one the other leave eight holes to find.

  5. Level 5 · Two punchesHOLES

A second punch on the same stack, with no extra fold.

  6. Level 6 · Sixteen holesHOLES

Three folds and two punches make a dense pattern, with fold orders you have not met before.

STAGE 2 · LEVELS 7–14

Trickier folds

Folds that no longer halve the whole stack, then folds at an angle.

  1. Level 7 · Short foldsHOLES

Only a one-, two- or three-square strip folds over, so some squares gain a layer and others do not.

  2. Level 8 · Full and shortHOLES

A halving fold and a short fold, in either order and on either axis.

  3. Level 9 · Gate and rollHOLES

Two short folds on one axis, from opposite edges (a gate) or the same edge (a roll), with two punches.

  4. Level 10 · CheckpointHOLES

Three folds mixing short and halving folds in both directions.

  5. Level 11 · DiagonalHOLES

A corner folds across a 45° crease, and a hole swaps its row and column.

  6. Level 12 · Double diagonalHOLES

The triangle folds again along the other diagonal, making a pinwheel of four.

  7. Level 13 · Corner foldHOLES

A straight fold, then only one corner turned in.

  8. Level 14 · SnowflakeHOLES

Half, half, then a diagonal: an eight-hole kaleidoscope.

STAGE 3 · LEVELS 15–17

Beyond holes

The same folding, asked three new ways.

  1. Level 15 · Reverse punchHOLES

The target pattern is shown. Fold the paper, then punch the folded stack yourself so it unfolds into the target.

  2. Level 16 · Light windowsLIGHT

The sheet starts with holes. After folding, mark the squares where every layer is holed.

  3. Level 17 · Ink soakINK

Ink soaks the front two layers of the folded stack. Predict the stained squares.

STAGE 4 · LEVELS 18–20

Mastery

No paper to fold. Then you design the folds.

  1. Level 18 · Fold in your headHOLES

The sheet stays flat and only the numbered diagrams show the folds. Predict the holes.

  2. Level 19 · Head, mixedMIXED

Fold in your head again, now with diagonals, light windows and ink, interleaved.

  3. Level 20 · DesignerHOLES

A target is shown and you choose the creases and one punch. Any fold sequence that makes it is right.
