Frequently asked questions
Headsets, hand tracking, privacy and more. If your question is not here, ask in our Discord.
What is Dendrite Bloom?
Dendrite Bloom is a calm, hands-only mixed reality puzzle game for Meta Quest. You fold a virtual sheet of paper with your fingertip, punch it, and predict where the holes, light or ink will end up once it unfolds. Every answer grows a glowing connection between neurons in the room around you.
Which headsets does it run on?
Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.
Do I need controllers?
No. Dendrite Bloom is played with hand tracking only: you fold, punch, mark and press CHECK with your fingertips. Hand tracking needs to be turned on in your Quest settings.
Does it use passthrough and my room?
Yes. The paper and the growing neurons appear in your own room through passthrough, so you can see your surroundings while you play, seated or standing.
How long is a session?
A session is five puzzles, so it fits in a short sitting. There is no timer and nothing rushes you.
How many levels are there?
There are 20 levels of ten puzzles each, from a single fold on a small sheet to designing your own folds. After level 20, Infinite Bloom generates endless puzzles that adapt to what you find hardest.
Is there a timer, a score or a way to lose?
No timer and no lives. Each puzzle is scored when you press CHECK, with every square marked found, missed or wrong. A missed puzzle comes back later for practice, and solving it strengthens the same connection in your brain.
Is it a brain training or medical product?
No. The brain you grow is a picture of your progress in the game, not a measurement of your brain, and Dendrite Bloom makes no health claims. It is a puzzle game about spatial reasoning.
Do I need an account? Is my progress saved?
There is no account, no ads and no in-app purchases. Your progress is saved on your headset.
What data does it collect?
The game does not use analytics, and your progress stays on your headset. The privacy page explains exactly what the game and this website do and do not collect.
Is it comfortable to play?
The world stays still, nothing moves you around, and everything sits within comfortable reach, so you can play seated or standing. As with any headset, stop if you feel unwell.
